With a passion for architectural design and building, Rick Hendel started Hendel Homes in 1997.  After receiving his B.S. in biology from Bethel University, he pursued a medical degree. However, he so thoroughly enjoyed his experience in the building industry that he devoted himself to studying architecture and home construction. His background includes many roles, from laborer to carpenter to field supervisor/project manager, and eventually, to business owner.

Rick’s desire to build beautiful residences, while providing clients with the highest level of value, architectural authenticity, and craftsmanship, led him to create Hendel Homes. He is committed to creating a one-of-a-kind, timeless design for your residence maintaining integrity in every aspect of the process.

Rick believes the uniqueness of Hendel Homes lies in the architectural cohesiveness of melding the design elements and the construction details with the needs and desires of each client. He has been part of the design process on many new custom homes and renovation projects, which gives him the ability to envision, depict and build the client’s vision. In client meetings, Rick will often make rough sketches of exterior architectural detailing or unique interior design, all with the ultimate goal of meeting and exceeding the client’s expectations.

Rick grew up in Burnsville, MN, and Eau Claire, WI. He enjoys playing hockey, hunting, traveling and spending time with his wife Amy and two children. Since Amy shares his love of traveling, they enjoy studying architecture both locally and abroad, gaining inspiration and new ideas to incorporate into the building and design process. Rick and Amy are also co-founders of a nonprofit organization, Educate Rwanda, which seeks to offer aid to the Rwandan people in a holistic way.


Amy Hendel, Marketing & DesignAmy Hendel head shot

Amy Hendel grew up in Chicago, IL.  She received her B.A. in business with a minor in marketing and finance from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN, graduating summa cum laude.   Many of Amy’s elective courses during college and throughout life have been art classes.  She studied at Altos de Chavon, School of Design, located in the Dominican Republic and affiliated with Parsons in New York, the New School for Design.  She has also been an IT Consultant Project Manager for various industries and companies throughout the US but now enjoys her role solely as head of marketing and a designer with Hendel Homes, as well as being home with their two children, Ava and Ashton.

Amy remembers going to the Parade of Homes with her parents when she was younger and traveling, which inspired her love of interior design and architecture.  Immersing herself in magazines, books, and classes has only added to her natural talent for artistic conception.  Rick and Amy’s work has been featured in national publications throughout the country.

Amy’s design expertise, hands-on approach and constant communication with the client create a trust and personal connection that ultimately lends itself to “peace of mind” during the process.


Joe Dzurik, Sr. Project Managerimg_1137_joe

Joe is one of the best construction project managers in the industry.  With over 30 years of construction knowledge and experience, his level of respect from homeowners, tradesmen, subcontractors and peers is superior and well-known.  Joe oversees your project from pre-construction to final walk-through.  He manages the schedule, quality of each tradesman, construction details, financial budget and communication schedule.  Joe is your main contact throughout the project and leads you through the construction phases with ease, understanding and confidence.

Joe is married to Colleen, who works with special needs children in the Delano school district.  Joe and Colleen have three grown children:  Joey, Jason, and Josh.  Their family enjoys the outdoors including camping and skiing.


Rick Theisen, Sr. Project Manager

Rick brings to Hendel 30 plus years working in the construction industry and a vast knowledge of managing the building of highly detailed custom homes.

At the beginning of a project, Rick will work behind the scenes to develop and distribute bid packages. He will analyze and verify subcontractor proposals to ensure accuracy in the costs and scope of work proposed.

When the project begins, Rick works directly with the clients, architects, designer, and site superintendent to oversee the project from start to finish. He will manage the schedule as well as all financial aspects of the project and is your primary contact for any questions, concerns, or potential changes in your new home.

Rick is married to Roxie, who has been in the mortgage banking industry for almost three decades. Their oldest daughter teaches English and their youngest daughter is an elementary school counselor.


Molly Zwettler, Project AdministratorFullSizeRender 5

Molly has worked in the home building business for over 12 years.  She works directly with clients, vendors and the Hendel team to help ensure no detail of the project is overlooked.  Molly attends all project meetings and keeps accurate records of what is reviewed.  She translates that information into organized project documentation, procures samples and works as a liaison between the Hendel office and our showroom partners.  Molly’s favorite part of the process is really getting to know clients and ensuring the building experience  is a fun and low stress experience!

In her free time, Molly and her husband enjoy home improvement projects, gardening, entertaining and chasing after their young toddler, Everett.


Lynn Sheldon, Project Administrator

Lynn Sheldon has 10 years of experience in the custom home building industry.  Her focus on carefully implementing the details assures our team of on-time orders, meeting project schedules and budgets.  Lynn’s favorite part of the process is seeing the elements of the finished details come together at the end of every project.

Before coming back to the home construction industry, Lynn spent time in the retail industry.  She was involved in personal styling, window dressing, store/set layout and design, management and buying.  She owned her own retail boutique at several locations.

Lynn’s free time is spent in writing, designing, fashion, finding unique boutique items, traveling and enjoying music, friends and family.  She also likes to fish, entertain and cook.  Lynn’s long term goal is to learn to play the piano and to complete the writing of her book.


Danielle Joyce, Accounting HR ManagerFullSizeRender 5

Dani is the accounting and HR manager at Hendel Homes. She has a B.S. in Accounting and in Business and 9 years of accounting experience.  Dani works closely with the project management teams to ensure
timely and accurate draw communication.  She also takes care of the accounting and HR tasks and reporting for Hendel Homes corporate.

In her free time, Dani enjoys playing volleyball, skiing, kayaking, biking, and running.  She loves to be outdoors, spend time with family and friends, and learn new things.  Her next bucket list goal is to hike
the trail to Machu Picchu.


Barb Waddell, Business Manager

Barb is the business manager at Hendel Homes and is responsible for the accounting operations. She works closely with clients and subcontractors in the financial area and manages other aspects of the project as well. She is an essential asset to each client’s satisfaction.

Having received a B.A. in fine arts and administration, Barb has an extensive background in managing and scheduling. She is also a pianist and music teacher. She is married with three children and nine grandchildren and enjoys spending free time with her family and traveling.

Kelly Heide has over 12 years of experience in account management and client services.  Her talent with organization and documentation assures the Hendel office is managed with confidence and accuracy.  Kelly works closely with the owners and accounting manager assisting in the daily tasks as well as assisting with project details.
Before coming to work at Hendel, Kelly worked as an account manager for a data company working to help clients achieve results through targeted email marketing.
Kelly is married to Craig and has 2 children, Keaton and Camden. You can usually find her either on a field or a court watching her boys play. In her spare time she loves to travel and enjoys to exercise.



Bob Caswell, Site Superintendent

Bob Caswell has been in the residential construction industry for over 25 years.  His experience in business management and working as a lead trim and framing carpenter has led him to be an expert in all aspects of the building process as well as construction project management.

Bob is one of our site superintendents, managing and scheduling all construction activities from beginning through punch-list and warranty.  His project management skills are facilitated by a thorough knowledge of the industry and his strong focus on communicating with the office, architects, interior designers and clients.  Bob fosters innovation, precision and teamwork on each job-site.

Bob is married to Lisa and they have two children.  He is involved in coaching his son’s baseball team, and enjoys watching his daughter play volleyball.  Their family enjoys camping and the great outdoors.


Paul Hesli, Site SuperintendentPaul Hesli

As a seasoned Site Superintendent with more than 30 years of experience directing teams through high-end construction project life cycles, Paul is confident in his management-impact on your project.  Paul’s background lies in overseeing all aspects of construction implementation while maintaining compliance and quality control with established regulations as well as Hendel standards.  Paul collaborates extremely well with project managers, engineers, architects, trades and city officials. With Paul’s dedication to construction project success, his added value will excel from initiation through completion.

Paul has 2 children, Hanna and Matt.  Paul spends his spare time watching his kids play hockey, baseball, and soccer.  He also enjoys fishing, hunting, church, and peaceful downtime. 


Chris Jensen, Site Superintendentimg_1135_chris

Chris Jensen has over 20 years experience in the residential construction industry.   He is a tremendous asset on each project as he oversees the progress of each construction project, including quality-control, project schedules of subcontractors and materials, and financial accountability.  Chris is part of all projects, from initial construction planning throughout all phases of construction leading to final completion.  He knows the construction industry extremely well and will lead your project with careful attention to detail.

Chris has two children and enjoys spending time with his family.
